Show Hard Disk Icon on OS X Mountain Lion Desktop [#HowTo]

OSX041

By default, Mac OS X Mountain Lion does not display any icon on the desktop. Not even the internal hard disk. In this article, I will be showing how simply you can display Hard Disks on the Mac OS X desktop.

Steps to Show OS X Mountain Lion Hard Disk Icon on the Desktop:

1.- Launch Finder from the Dock.

2.- Once you have a Finder windows open, press the Command key and the comma ( , ) key at the same time to open the Finder Preferences.

3.- On the General Tab of the Finder Preferences select Hard Disks on the “Show these items on the desktop” option.

4. – Go back to the Desktop and you’ll see your Hard Disk Icon. Enjoy!!
